ITALY – ALTUOFIANCO ALLOCATES USEFUL THINGS TO WHO NEEDS THEM
Good morning! Lots of exciting news—this time, from Italy!
Have you ever had things you no longer use, and you hate to waste them, but don’t know who to give them to so they can still be useful to someone else?
Contact us! Maybe we can point you to a place where you can donate them and give them a new life.
We really believe in this initiative.
Following up on what we’ve previously shared, in August/September:
• We provided lots of information on where to donate clothes and books.
• We “found a home” for a computer that a company in Bergamo (thank you!!!) no longer used. ATF connected them with the Arca di Leonardo association, also based in Bergamo, which will use it for graphic design workshops for Ukrainian orphans. So far, we have a photo of the computer, and soon we’ll share one of it in use.
• We started a COLLECTION OF SUPPLIES FOR TOGO, AFRICA! In the city of Aneho, there is a community development center with a school for over 300 children, teens, and adults; a tailoring school for girls, and a computer course. Many things are needed, and ATF is collecting supplies that are then brought to Oulx (in Piedmont), from where a priest from Togo ships them in a container.
What are we collecting for Aneho?
Small, easy-to-transport items—for example, laptops and desktops, small printers, school supplies, toys… For larger items (mattresses, bed frames, sewing machines…), if you offer them, we’ll see how we can organize it.
You can find photos of ATF’s first “trial” delivery in July (thanks to those who donated!), a list of items, and pictures of a previous shipment arriving in Togo. We’ll be delivering more items soon, and later we’ll share photos of your donations being used there.
• We also take care of the little things: someone donated a watch, and we gave it to a homeless person who had really wanted one. It made him happy. You’ll only see a photo of the watch, out of respect for the person who received it.
• ATF also directed 3 associations—suggested by friends—to a company that wanted to support aid projects in Lombardy (which ATF does not operate in). One of them received funding, so we were helpful.
In short:
If you have (working and good-condition) items that could still be useful to someone, somewhere in the world; if you want to share opportunities or collaborate—let us know!
Thank you!
