CONGO – ISIRO. EBOLA, THE EMERGENCY CONTINUES. HELP US!
In Isiro, Ebola is raging, and the fight continues.
At the beginning of September, Brother Rombaut told us about a situation involving many deaths, along with some cases of recovery. The first thing to do is to raise awareness about avoiding crowds and following the doctors’ instructions.
He and the community are constantly on alert and keeping a close watch on the situation. They visit families every day. They take care of many elderly people who live alone and are vulnerable, providing them with food, supplies (bananas, rice, oil and soap), as well as advice on how to avoid infection.
They bring food for the children directly to their homes or give it to their mothers, in order to prevent the little ones, as much as possible, from going out and coming to the canteen at the Gajen Centre.
See the photos.
The community is beginning to understand how to behave in response to this disease. And yet, Brother Rombaut told us on Friday, the number of cases and deaths continues to rise.
And the supplies of medical materials have run out.
“Everything we had is gone. If possible, we need you to send us more.”
After the first emergency aid of €500 sent in mid-August, which was used to purchase masks, disinfectants and other supplies, last Monday ATF sent another €500, in addition to the regular monthly donation for the children’s food and healthcare.
We cannot give up. We need your help too.
We want to provide soap, disinfectant, gloves and masks to the 250 families at the Gajen Centre.
In Isiro, the costs are:
• bar of soap: €0.65
• liquid soap (250 ml): €1.72
• 100 gloves: €4.30
• 100 masks: €5.16
WITH €12 YOU CAN HELP PROTECT ONE FAMILY.
A small donation can become a means of prevention and protection, while also helping provide food and healthcare to the children.
You can help us with a one-off or regular donation:

Heartfelt thanks to everyone who will help us and to those who already support us.
