ITALY – GIVING NEW LIFE TO SO MANY GOOD THINGS

ATF is up to some great things here in Italy too — we’re finding new homes for lots of reusable items that people no longer need.
So, what kind of things are we talking about?
• The computer that “found a home” with the association L’Arca di Leonardo in Bergamo (see our post from October 2nd) is now up and running! Thanks to that computer, L’Arca has started a course teaching some young Ukrainian refugees, who are staying in one of their centers, how to build websites. We loved seeing the photo from their first class and the press release! We’re so glad we could help connect L’Arca with our friends Francesca and Fabrizio, who kindly donated the computer. Huge thanks to them — and good luck to all the students!
• We also dropped off some children’s toys at Casa di Tabità in Milan, which supports families in need. They told us the toys were put to good use right away :).
• And still at Tabità, Fiorella and Stefania donated lots of women’s shoes after we suggested it. As Stefania said, “they’ll walk a little longer.” Thank you!
• ATF has also shared plenty of tips on where to donate all kinds of things: men’s and women’s clothes, glasses, furniture, dishes, blankets, and sheets. Some deliveries have already been made!
We always ask donors to tell us how the delivery went — it really helps us give better advice to others next time.
• And we’re still collecting items to send to Togo, to the school and vocational training center in Aneho. What’s needed? Things like school supplies, laptops/desktops, small printers, and small appliances — but also bigger items like mattresses, bed frames, and sewing machines.
Everything will be brought to the collection point in Oulx, Piedmont, and then shipped off to Togo in a container.
A huge thanks to everyone who’s already donated or reached out to us! We hope to keep doing even better.
Got something that could be reused? Tell us about it — let’s see together if we can make it useful again!
Just make sure items are in good condition, working, and don’t need repairs.
