It’s wonderful to be able to tell you that in Thandarai, all activities are going well and everyone is doing their best :).
• The after-school program is a peaceful place where schoolchildren and the two university students with ATF scholarships can do a lot: study their required subjects, but also practice martial arts (not funded by ATF) and drawing. And, a luxurious bonus, there is also, when possible, a math support teacher for final-year students.
ATF supports many things: the daily snack (about €20/month); bus expenses for the 4 students who attend a distant school (about €10/month); small expenses for the two university students (about €10/month); and, when needed, school supplies for the students and whatever is necessary for the after-school facility—from cleaning and maintenance to computers.
• Aid interventions: in July, 25 kg of rice + flour and spices were donated to elderly people in need; and support continued for the physiotherapy of a person with disabilities (about €10/month).
Currently, total regular monthly expenses are about €120.
